Experimental procedure. First, ITFIs are collected and calibrated. The calibration process can minimize the variation of facial images caused by movements. Then, each person’s forehead, nose, mouth, left cheek, and right cheek areas are selected. The average skin temperature in each area is calculated. For features extraction, average temperatures are obtained according to the time sequence of visual stimulation generated by emotion pictures. MANOVA and SVM classifier are used to analyze and identify moderately and markedly ill schizophrenia patients
